Its for the interest group of both business and the consumer when new technologies guide to better quality products. The industry depends on the quality of fruits that are growing in the country. Juice shelf life is small due to defect that keep happen based on environmental climate. To extend the shelf life, juice is pasteurized on the same method as draw which for decades can be considered a middle ground between raw and ultra-pasteurized. The flavor of milk is affected by pasteurization much more potently than fruit juices tend to be.Ecological factorsJuice Industry is depending on agriculture and fruit growth wherever it spread. It is necessary to realize that fruit growing relies on agricultural land, water and suitable climate. Fertilizers used in agriculture can be a source of environmental pollution. Porter in his book Competitive Strategy Techniques for Analyzing Industries and Competitors in 1980. The far-famed book he wrote in his thirties became an international best seller, published in nineteen languages and re-printed approaching sixty times. Since that time Porters Model became an important tool help for analyzing an organizations industry structure in strategic processes. Porter has identified five war-ridden forces that shape every industry and every market. These for ces determine the impregnation of competition and hence the profitability and attractiveness of an industry and answer the question of What are the key factors that can determine a business success? The five forces are described as follows bane of new entrantsBargaining causalityof customersCompetitiverivalry withinthe industryBargaining powerof suppliers little terror ofsubstitutesRecklies focusing Project GmbHwww.themanager.org(figure 1)Bargaining Power of CustomersThreat of New EntrantsThreat of SubstitutesCompetitive Rivalry between Existing firmsIn combination with a PESTEL-Analysis, which reveals drivers for change in an industry, Five Forces Analysis can reveal insights about the potential future attractiveness of the industry. Porters Model is useful tools to determine potential changes of competitive forces.Bargaining power of suppliersBargaining power of suppliers is described by how much power suppliers have on you in a particularised industry or market. A business or a producing industry requires inputs to give a final product such as raw materials, labor, component and other supplies. This lead to a relationship between buyer and supplier provide raw materials used in the production. Supplier is called powerful when he has influence on the producing industry. Lets focus on suppliers in Egyptian juice industry and how much they have power influencing the production of the final juice product. Juice industry depends on many suppliers sugar, material infallible in packaging, preservative, flavor and a key player in juice industry is the juice concentrate supplier. Juice supply chain starts form farm that depend on fruit seasonality. The crop of any fruit varies from time to time in quantity and quality based on climate changes and natural crises. This is the main reasons that change in juice concentrate availability price and quality. Juice concentrate suppliers are divided in three categories. Suppliers that produce concentrate and use them in the production of final juice product, others that produce concentrate and use part of their production to make a final juice product and sell the rest and suppliers that sell all their production of juice concentrate. Its worth to mention that a big part of the juice concentrate is exported outside Egypt to other countries and one of the main countries who import from Egypt are the Gulf countries. Therefore the supplier power is considerate high because the market is dominated by a a a couple of(prenominal)(prenominal) large suppliers rather than fragmented source of supply, supplier customer are fragmented, there is a possibility for supplier to increase concentrate juice prices and there is no substitute to the juice concentrate. To reduce supplier power in juice industry it is important to know what is the influence of outside factors to be taken in consideration to find a place in the market. Juice producers make a partnership with suppliers that produce juice concentrate t o reduce the power of suppliers.Bargaining power of customersBargaining power of customers is how much negotiation power the customers have and how much power he has over you in a specific industry or market, meaning how much customer can imposepressure in margin and volume. When buyer has a strong economic power the relationship to the producing industry is near to what economist call monopsony, a market where there is many suppliers and one buyer. In such case your ability to becharm a high pro piece of the value created will decrease, and you will earn lower profit.Having a few large buyers will have a of import leverage to negotiate price and others terms because you will be afraid losing an important buyer and volume which puts you in a weak position. Buyers have to a fault power on you if they can produce the product themselves and they can play suppliers against each others. However there is a few large buyers and they buy in a large quantities. Meanwhile there are many sma ll buyers that you have greater control over them because they buy a small portion of your sales.Bargaining power of consumer in the juice industry, there are three type of buyer which is the direct consumer, the retail outlets and the wholesalers. 75% of direct consumers for juice impudently prepare juice at home or they buy it from a plain juice shops. In this situation the main competition of those buyers is any plain juice shops or fresh fruit that can substitute the juice product. The juice producer can reduce this bargaining by offering a differentiated product and create loyalty to the brand that offers higher value as the juice freshly prepared its shelf life is limited. The Wholesalers are few in number therefore their bargaining power of consumer is evidential due to the number of juice product that they do have on the retails shelf and how do they present the product to the consumer. The retails outlets are many in numbers and they do have a big number of products as ye t the bargaining power of wholesalers and retail outlets are not significant if the consumers are loyal to the brand.Generally the juice industry in Egypt, buyers has more power than the entrepreneurs due to the fact that consumer have different option to entertainment, number of retail outlets that have a several product on self. Therefore the differentiation, creating value to the product and loyalty to the brand is very important.Threat of a new entrantThreat of a new entrant is how easy a competitor can enter into your industry or market? New competitors determents changes in the market environment in terms of gain market shares, pressure to reduce the prices which have an blow on profit and impact on customer loyalty at any time. In term of reaction and adjustment the existing players have a pressure on them. Threat of new entrant depends on barrier to enter industry or market and how the existing player will react with a new competitor. New entrant barrier is economies of sc ale, the experience that the existing players have which lead to cost advantage, high fixed assets cost and strong dissemination channel of existing players. The existing of these barriers protects the existing player from the threat of new entrant. In addition the existent players can react by reducing price or forming a partnership to reduce the threat of a new entrant.Threat of new entrant is considerate in Egyptian juice industry due to high keen cost and knowledge required. Based on this usually the threat of new entrant is higher for the companies that are involved in manufacturing then service. Its not unendingly negative that you do have a competition close to you. Some industry encourage a new entrant specially if they do have already experience in a similar field and they do have a big part of their capital already established such as the factory which just need the production line and having their own distribution channel.Threat of a substitutes productsThreat of subst itutes products, we give term substitutes to a product that a buyer can replace a business product with another one. What products your buyer can replace your product with? It exists when a buyer can replace your product with another product for the same purpose with a lower price. In such case they can attract a significant proportion of the market and have impact on sales and volume of the existing players. The substitutes product also applies on complementary product. The main factors that can affect substitutes product are customer shift to another similar product based on lower price because your product doesnt give different value from the competitors one and customer have a little loyalty to your product therefore, the threat of substitute is considerable. A substitute threat can be cut back by differentiating your product than the other existing in market and create loyalty to the brand through marketing initiative (TV, radio, outdoors advertisingetc).Following the new live styles trend, consumers became healthier conscious make the threat of substitutes products low in juice industry. The consumption of carbonated soft drinks decreased. The substitute product in this industry can be a healthy product such as fruit juice drink, fruit flavored drink, powdered fruit drinks can substitute the juice concentrate drink and it can also be substituted by milk , fruit base yogurt and mineral or bottled water. Variety of substitutes products are for sale at the market consumer have an open choices which they can choose whatever suits their needs. However they are not real substitutes products because juice is drunk in different time and occasions.Rivalry between existing firmsRivalry is the competition between existing firms in an industry. In certain industry the rivalry is high and has an impact on profit as you cannot set your own price and it can make the profit to zero. This force might be the most important in Poters five forces as it describe the intens ity between existing players. The rivalry is called high when the competitors on a same industry have similar products with no differentiation and they compete in term of price. The market players are same in mass with comparable strategies. Having high barrier to exit the market and when the market is increasing slowly or shrinking this makes the rivalry a considerable force. To decrease the rivalry between existing players you should avoid price competition, differentiate your product and strategies, focus on a different sector and avoid high capacity production. The Egyptian juice market is a fragmented market with many players. Four companies have 50% of the market the rest are less than 5% each. The market is not only splited between the players in terms of market share but also shrinked by products. This means that there is a good chance to enter the market. However, PepsiCo the major competitive to Coca-Cola is preparing new juice open up during the current year. PepsiCo made a joint venture with Almarai Company (extremely successful dairy foods company in the Middle East) and have acquired Beyti well known brand name in Egypt. It produces a variety of high-quality dairy and juice. They are big in size with a very strong distribution channel however the consumer has a law loyalty to specific brand. This situation will make rivalry in the near future.Egypt juice market analysisLets go more deep and look into the market analysis to be able to determine the juice market sucess . The goal is to be able to find out the market attractivness and understand more about the opportunity and threats of the sector.Key success factorsKey success factors depend on two questions which need to be analyzedWhat does the consumer neediness? (Here we need to analyze the market)How to face the competition? (Competition analysis)In Egypt juice sector to make a success from the consumer pointEgyptians doesnt make a great difference between artificial distilled fruit beverage a nd fruit juice they are comparing products in terms of price. Therefore you need to have a competitive price or to build a differentiation strategy to enable you to set your price.Innovation is one of key success factors that need to be present to gain consumer. The consumer has a law loyalty to brands this makes the product availability in market very important. The availability plus the innovation in packages and product function that suits the new consumer life styles will help to build loyalty to the brand. For the competition, you need to be different in product image, have a strong distribution channel to be able to position yourself in the market and to start to compete.Demand AnalysisDemand characteristicFollowing the new consumer life style, the juice market has a high demand based on questionnaire done by MEMRB agency to the Coca-Cola Egypt company here is the outcome. Those that consume juice product on monthly bases dont think it is as strong on Thirst quenching, Good for you, Great tasting and refreshing. However, an improvement on all measures for juice, frequent consumption coming from weekly consumers. Consumer that thinks that they are always doing new thinks shows growth from0% to 7% in 2008-2009 while the carbonated soft drinks shows 3% increase in 2009 and the one that things that uice gives energy shows an improvement from 5% to 9% for year 2008-2009 while the carbonated soft drinks shows a decrease from -6% to -11% for year 2008-2009.

Thefurniture in the rooms is described as being, undecomposed solid furniture ofthe period. The general effect is substantial and heavily comfortable, and not cosy and homelike. As you will see later Mr. Birling alwayswants to overhear the impression that he is better than his guest, or atleast is his guests social equal. The furniture in the house may beanother one of Birlings attempt to make the guest intent this way. Birling as you will see later is thestereotypical capitalist of the time. He will do anything to makehimself look and feel as if he is better than his guest. The furniturerepresents the Birling families longing for status. In the early 1900s social status was virtually everything. This wasbecause communism dominated the whole of the United Kingdom. Thevertical social ladder of status was what controlled who was asomebody and who was a nobody. The description of the house is agood example of how unsocial many families were during this timebecause all anybody, who was anybody, wanted was to show how wealthythey were, and to climb the social ladder.I shall now talk about the characters themselves.Mr. Birling is described as being, a heavy-looking, rather portentousman in his middle fifties with fairly easy manners but rather idyl in his speech. He is a prosperous factory owner and is aself made man. He follows all the capitalist traits of the time and kit and caboodle heavily under the capitalist business mentality, build themcheap, sell them expensive.

British Imperialism in India :: Colonialism Imperialism

British Imperialism in IndiaAll the leadership had spent their early years in England. They were influenced by British thought, British ideas, that is why our leaders were always telling the British How can you do these things? Theyre against your own basic values.. We had no hatred, in fact it was the other(a) way round - it was their values that made us revolt. -Aruna Asaf Ali, a leader of the Indian National Congress. (Masani, quoted in Wood, 32, 1989) There is no doubt that British imperialism had a large impact on India. India, having previously been an group of independent and semi-independent princedoms and territories, underwent ample change under British administration. Originally intended to consolidate their hold on India by establishing a population that spoke the same language as their rulers, the British decision in the 1830s to educate Indians in a Western fashion, with position as the language of instruction, was the beginning of a chain of events, including a rise in Indian nationalism, that led to Indian resentment of British imperialism and ultimately to the departure of British control over India. One of the near important factors in the British loss of control over India was the establishment of English as a unifying language. Prior to British colonisation, India was fragmented and multi-lingual, with 15 major languages and around 720 dialects. English served as a common ground for Indians, and allowed separate cultural and cultural groups to identify with each other, something which had rarely if ever occurred before on a grand scale. Although it was mainly educated Indians of a privileged caste who spoke English, these were the most influential people in terms of acting as facilitators for nationalist ideas to be communicated throughout the populace. The publication of magazines and journals in English was also a great influence on the rise of Indian nationalism. Although most Indians received nationalist ideas orally, these journal s allowed Indians who were literate in English to come into contact with the ideas of social and political reformers. governmental and social reform in India was achieved as a result of the European political principles brought to India by the British. Indians were Anglicised, and the British ideal for an Indian was to be Indians in rake and colour, but English in tastes, opinions and intellect, as put by one British legislator (Rich, 214, 1979). This Western education inevitably led to well-read Indians encountering European principles such as human rights, freedoms of speech, travel and association, and liberalism.

Many Americans wanted to bring about an end to it but were unable to come up with a executable plan. One person to try and find an answer to the problem was himself a slave owner he was James Madison. The institution of slavery deeply interested James Madison, even at the start of his political career. During his career, Madison held many important political offices he used these offices to try to bring to an end this evilness in his society. Some criticized him for not using his power to fuller advantage, but Madison had a plan for achieving his objective. It is difficult to determine where James Madisons idea that slavery was evil and should be done away with came from, however two events, only a few years before his birth may have been a factor. In June of 1737, a court of Oyer and Terminer ordered that a slave named Peter, guilty of murthering his said master, be hanged.1 His head was cut off and placed on a pole near a creek for all to see. There is no evidence James Madison saw the head on the pole but, he must have heard about it for the creek was renamed, Negrohead Run. In 1745, a black female slave, Eve, was burned to death for poisoning her master, Mr. Peter Montague. Thomas Chew, sheriff and great-uncle of James Madison carried out Eves sentence. Speculation exists that Madisons father was present and related the story to his son years later. These repugnant events may not have had an cause on Madison, but the efforts of his parents were a factor. The institution of slavery as Madison grew up with it combined the personal ease of the master with a life gigantic consideration of the servant.2 In his book, A History of the Old South, Clement Eaton describes many Southerners as having a guilt complex over slavery. Historians are iridescent whether James Madison had a guilt complex but he did grow up with a respect for the slaves o n his fathers farm. This respect stayed with Madison his full life. His personal servant, Paul Jennings, related years after Madisons death that,Mr. Madison often told the story, that one day riding home from court with old Tom Barbour (father of governor James Barbour), they met a colored man who took off his hat. Mr. M. raised his, to the surprise of old Tom to whom Mr. M. replied, I nev... ...artineau, Harriet. Retrospect of Western Travel, 2 vol. Shattered Essay -- Poetry

The mirror is cracked but non shattered. Fragments of glass reflect pieces of her. Lily-white skin. Primped, hanging curls the color of corn. A button nose. rubicund ribbon lips. Opaque forget-me- non blue eyes. The dark pupils dilate and swivel, dilate and swivel, but her eyes are sightless. She sees, but she does not.The mirror is cracked but not shattered. She sees her face separately in each shard of glass. Some small, some large. A multitude of reflections, each iodine a clone of the other, each one a doppelganger, a twin. Never alone. Each reflection with an identical companion. Symmetry is beautiful. She aches. The mirror is cracked but not shattered. Her fingers graze the mirror. The pads of her fingertips tingle at the dapple of each cracks raised edge. A mirror a symbol of frailty and a symbol of immense power. Reflective ice. What lurks beneath the translucent, razor-thin draw close of a mirror? Her fingers reach for the reflections before her.The mirror is cracked but not shattered. The curtains unveiled her. Pretty as a doll. Silent as a mannequin. Lifeless as a marionette with no one pulling her strings. Beneath the spotlights glare, a reflection clearer than in a cracked-but-not-shattered mirror. The outline glued to her lips, the blush caked on her face, the bright red circles painted upon her cheeks. A freakish sight fit for the gypsies circus. Silence. Or laughter. Silent laughter. The fat tears flourish down, leaving clean tracks in the thick makeup. The mirror is cracked but not shattered. Prone to melancholy, she muses. To be cracked like the mirror but not shattered. All the pieces together, but not completely complete. Complete completeness terrified her.Her own eyes see clearly, t... ... So much frightens her. Irresistible completeness strikes both awe and misgiving in her. Her tiny hands ball into fists, the fingers like claws, like stilettos. Her porcelain whets into a blade. An inexorable desire rising, groaning like a glutton w ithin her disgustingly double-dyed(a) shell. The mirror is cracked but not shattered. With her white flawless claw, she smashes the cracked mirror. It shrieks one final time as its fragile fragments shatter and cascade to the raw floor. Fluorescent lights glare callously at her triumph below. A moments pause, as the silence embraces the passing of the mirrors long life. The damp air suckles eagerly from the mirrors relinquished memory of reflections. Beneath her lie the pieces, abandoned and unwanted like broken teeth, no longer cancel of an incompletely complete work of wonderment. The mirror is shattered.
